Scriptwriter Ali Sabri recently finished his new series screenplay called “Asad Babel”, i.e. The Lion of Babylon.
The series will be produced by Alsumaria TV as part of its 2008 Drama grid. Though its name echoes ancient history, the storyboard relates modern issues in 30 episodes.
In an interview with Annoor newspaper, Sabri declared that the screenplay exposes numerous characters, sets, and controversial psychological knots. The series subtly calls Iraqis, namely intellectual, academic, creative and resourceful talents, to reconnect with their mother land and contribute in its rebuilding.
